Ganesa

Ganesa

I made this statue in 1993, just prior to moving to England, and since it is considered auspicious to invoke Ganesha at the beginning of any major project or transaction, I thought it would help me make a new beginning, in a new country. I immersed the first casting from this mould in a lake in my home town, Hannover, as a sacrifice to Ganesha.

This statue was inspired by a sandstone image of Ganesha in the British Museum in London.
